The Los Alamos National Laboratory located in new Mexico, home of some US research into nuclear weapons, has replaced networking tools from Chinese vendor H3C over security concerns, reported Reuters.
Instead, the tools seem to have been replaced solely on the basis of suspicion.
If that’s the case, it indicates a escalation of paranoia for US government entities about Chinese networking equipment vendors, given that H3C is now in HP’s hands.
To date, no-one has discovered, or detected and published, either a stream of packets from a Chinese networking device to an unplanned destination or a back door Chinese vendors can access without the companies knowledge.
