In a blog post yesterday, Twitter released that approximately 250,000 accounts have possibly been compromised. Which means Twitter users should change their passwords.
Twitter has already found strange access patterns on some accounts. Subsequently, they have lifted access to all compromised accounts, and you should receive an email asking you to reset your password if yours was hacked.
That said, if you’re worried about your account, now’s as good a time as any to change your password for Twitter.
Twitter’s director of information security, Bob Lord, said in the post that the attack “was not the work of amateurs, and we do not believe it was an isolated incident.”
“We believe other companies and organizations have also been recently similarly attacked,” Lord said. “We are helping government and federal law enforcement in their effort to find and prosecute these attackers to make the Internet safer for all users.”
