New Blackphone created for extreme mobile privacy

The Blackphone is based on the android operating system, the idea behind Blackphone (shown above), is to have a phone completely untouchable by companies. The Blackphone, an unlocked GSM handset from Geeksphone and Silent Circle, that runs a custom version of Android dubbed “PrivatOS.”

The OS incorporates support for secure voice calls, sms messages, emails, and sharing files. It’s a harnded version of the Android OS, with extra added security features. It also includes Google’s full suite of Android apps.  The also released a promotional video with the announcement on the new phone.

Other than this, no other information has been released, the companies {claim that|state that} benchmark tests show the Blackphone to be “among the top performers from any manufacturer,”  the company went on to say:

“The tools installed on Blackphone give you everything you need to take ownership of your mobile presence and digital footprints, and ensure nobody else can watch you without your knowledge.”

The business will demonstrate the Blackphone at next month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This will hopefully involve some hands on with the phone and then consumers can really see what it’s all about.
