GoDaddy Offline for 4 hours Possibly an attack

Go Daddy, the biggest internet domain registrar in the world.  It was mostly offline today for more than four hours. Besides being the greatest provider of domains, Go Daddy also services several of those domains with DNS, email and web hosting services, all of which were periodically inaccessible.

Many people start saying that Anonymous must be DDoSing the internet giant.  Go Daddy has been a popular target for the “99%” since they publicly announced support for the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in late 2011, then later denied they supported SOPA.

It Is not known whether they were under assault or just suffering from a hardware or software failure, that didn’t cease a Twitter account from Brazil that is broadly associated with Anonymous from taking credit for the downtime.

At the time of the outage, GoDaddy twitted this:

Wired as said that Go Daddy has migrated its DNS records to their chief competitor, VeriSign. Users are not witnessing any evidence of this at the moment, but different people are experiencing different effects from around the world.
