What is Tor?

Tor was originally crafted and used for a “onion routing project of the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory”

Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. It also enables software developers to create new communication tools with built-in privacy features.

I personally use Tor to connect to IRC servers, messenger clients and the websites. I believe its a very effective tool if you want to keep anonymous.

First you want to download Tor from there official website.

In the download it will contain Tor, Portable Firefox configured for Tor and Vidalia. Vidalia is the client that connects you to the Tor network, you can choose just to start both or just Vidalia. Here are the settings for mIRC
