Russian Hacker bypasses Apple’s purchase authentication server

Apple is looking into yet another security breach in its iTunes app store . A Russian hacker figured out a process that allows for people to get around payment in the App Store and download products free of charge.

The hacker, nicknamed ZonD80, posted a video of the crack on YouTube (erased by Youtube immediately) and claims that the method makes it possible to bypass Apple’s payment systems by establishing a few certificates and allotting a particular IP address to the Apple device device.

The newly formed service, which has already been open to efforts to shutting the service down, involves no jailbreaking and only minimal configuration alterations. It runs by funneling purchase requests through a host controlled by the hacker, instead of the legitimate purchase serve roffered by Apple. As a final result, charges that generally would be applied to a user’s account are bypassed.
