Anonymous, a group of hacktivists attacked websites in Mexico on Jan 27, 2012, the group had blocked access to the websites of the Mexican Senate via a DDoS attack, and the Department of the Interior Ministry Friday to resist a proposed law to fine citizens who breach copyright online. This is the Mexican version of SOPA, Anonymous had announced on their Spanish Twitter account Friday.
This is a growing trend, first SOPA and PIPA, the Mexican version and ACTA. Many countries are seeing this censorship as a great idea to help control their citizens and prevent freedom of speech. This is not going to subside anytime soon, these ideas are going to keep growing from nation to nation and are going to be proposed by political figures. The best we can do is use our power to vote against them!
