Call of Duty botnet Launches 10Gbs DDoS

A group of servers used by the popular FPS, Call of Duty, where exploited and hijacked.  The hackers shelled the servers and used them to launch a 10 gigabyte per second UDP flood.

The assault bombarded a minor unidentified business with a UDP flood by exploiting a flaw that’s still present in thousands of game hosts.

European anti DDoS company VistNet, which help to mitigate the attack alleged thousands of vulnerable sites could be found with a Google search.  Administrators of hacked Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare hosts had at first believed VistNet was behind the assault. Only a Few realized how their servers were compromised, the company said.
